The US Warns over N. Korea Missile Launch

The US Secretary of State John Kerry said that a missile attack on the US, attempted or successful, would be a huge mistake on N. Korea’s part. During his visit to Seoul, Kerry also downplayed suggestions that N. Korea has nuclear warheads even capable of reaching, let alone harming the US. The Secretary of State plans on urging leaders in China to use their influence on N. Korea to rein in on Kim Jong-un’s aggression.

I think that everyone is taking Kim Jong-un’s threats way to seriously. Estimates of N.Korea’s nuclear capabilities have shown that even if N. Korea reached its maximum missile range (which is highly unlikely), its nuclear weapons would only be able to reach part of Alaska… Also, considering the amount of debt the US owes to China, it’s not likely that China would allow N. Korea (its ally) to risk starting a war with the US. My thoughts are that Kim Jong-un is simply trying to make a name for himself after taking office.
